P90X Kenpo Workout DVD – Day 13

P90X Kenpo WorkoutIs it weird that I’ve been walking around all day muttering, “Jab! Cross! Hook! Uppercut!”? I think I’m slowly evolving into Tony Horton, and that is beginning to worry me a little.

Anyway, it’s hard to believe that tomorrow is the end of my second full week of P90X workouts. Overall, I feel pretty good considering the amount of sheer punishment I have inflicted upon myself. Onward…

Today was day 13 of P90X, and I got busy with a little thing I like to call Kenpo X. My legs are pretty toasty from yesterday’s pain-filled legs and back workout, and the soreness hasn’t completely gone away yet. Still, the kenpo routine went surprisingly well.

I really tried to concentrate on punching and kicking with force today. This is one of those routines where you can fake it all the way through by just going through the motions, so it’s muy importante to bring major intensity and focus to your workout.

Tomorrow is my rest day, but I’m planning on completing the X Stretch workout just as I did last week. It’s really tempting to skip the stretching DVD as it’s “optional”, but I found that I felt much better last week after finishing it. Also, I’m a big believer in staying super consistent and I guess a little part of me is afraid that my body will enjoy that day off a little too much. I definitely want to avoid doing anything that might make it harder to get back in the saddle at the start of week 3.

For week three, I’ve already decided that I’m going all-out nuts. I’m going to dig even deeper and find an entirely new level of “push”. I also picked up a new piece of gear today that is certainly going to help things along in that department (more on that tomorrow).

I ate well again today, mainly eating chicken, egg whites, tuna, veggies, a bit of fruit, and the new daily staple of my diet — a chocolate Shakeology shake.

    I hear you on the Stretch DVD, if I don’t do it on Sunday the chances of not putting in Monday’s DVD get exponentially higher. I’m sticking to it as well!
